Bachelorette Party

The night before our wedding reception most of our friends and family came up. Mike went out with his guy friends and I stayed at the house with most of my girl friends and a some family. We didn't have a crazy night with strippers or a lot of drinking but we did drink a little. We played rummy and played the music too loud. It was a lot of fun. My uncle was in town and he came over and hung out for a while. Mom and TJ were there too. Kerry, Karli, Katie Reynolds, Mandy, Jodi and Jamie all slept at my house for the night. The next morning we got up bright and early to decorate the reception hall. It was a long weekend full of friends and family!

Our Wedding Party

Our wedding party was this last weekend. I wasn't going to make the party any more than a simple party. I wasn't going to have everyone introduced and I didn't expect to dance with Mike. I warned him that I'd be dancing and he'd have to deal with sitting there without me. I didn't expect much out of the party but I was so wrong! We had a BLAST!! It was so much fun! I don't even remember so much of it (not because I was drunk, because I wasn't!) because so much was going on and so many people were there! I showed up at the Lodge to get dressed since Mike was getting dressed at our house with all of his friends. It was decorated very nicely. My girl friends and family did a great job! I didn't feel good all day I was so nervous and excited! I used to like being the center of attention but I hate it now! I was looking forward to the night but I just couldn't settle down! I wanted everyone to have a great time but I was so afraid they would walk away disappointed! Well, I got dresses and went out to greet a few people as they walked in. My cousin, Dawn, cornered me and told me that I had to hide in the bathroom until everyone showed up and I didn't have a choice! She set it up with my girls and Mike's guys to have them introduced after my mom and dad and Mike's mom and brother. Mike and I had never seen what each other were wearing so this would be the first time, in front of everyone! Needless to say I started to feel even more nervous and sick! I was almost ready to throw up when they started to introduce my girls and mike's guys. Then Mike and I walked out and he looked amazing! He was in a full suit that he bought and he just looked so good! From then on, we took pictures, danced and ate! And of course, drank! I had so many people that got drunk, the funny thing was though, most of them were my family! We had a great time though, which you can see from the pictures! Mike even danced as much as I did! He danced with all my girls and grandma! When we cut the cake, I thought he was going to be nice... he wasn't so, I smeared cake all over his face! I am so proud! My cake was beautiful! Mom made the final choices on it since I was too busy to deal with it and she did an amazing job! I loved it and it tasted amazing! My nerves didn't stop until Sunday afternoon but it was well worth it! I am so glad my family pushed me to do it the way we did! Enjoy the pictures! 

Jessie

These are just a bunch of new pictures of Jessie. I know we treat her like child but well, I love her like a child!! =) She is just so much fun! She grabbed the newspaper one day and started hauling it around the house. Jumping around and everything. She is 100% a duck dog! She loves to look out the back door and watch the chocolate lab and chihuahua next door. 

Getting ready for hunting

Yes, That really is Mike's hunting room. It's more a mess than you can tell!

So, it is officially hunting season. Since Friday I have seen my husband for maybe a couple hours. He was gone all day yesterday hunting. Then Sunday he went duck hunting at 3 am and came home around lunch time then went back out to camp to do deer hunting. Saturday was spent out at camp deer hunting and Friday after work he went out to camp and slept there. I see how this years season is going to go! At least I had Jessie most of the time. (She's a good protector!) But he did get his limit in ducks and a doe. He definitely started the season well. I guess I can't complain, I knew what I was getting into. It really doesn't bother me, I get to read, scrapbook and watch what I want to on TV!

Orlando Weekend

Mike and I went to Orlando with Carl, Betsy and Lilly for the weekend on August 11. We drove up on Friday night and left on Sunday. On Saturday we went to Typhoon Lagoon and spent the day going on rides and playing in the kiddie pool with Lilly. That night we went to Kobe a Japanese restaurant where they cook right in front of you. It was so cool and the food was so good. As you can see Lilly was having a hard time eating the noodles! She was so cute! She would sit on Mike's lap and eat his food then she'd sit on my lap and eat my food then she'd sit on her dad's lap and ate his food! She was so funny! We had a fun time with them!

TJ's B-day

Kerry came up on August 24th for TJ's birthday. We made a cake for him on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! We spent all day at my new house making the cake, watching movies and goofing off!

Party Plans and School

Well, I have a lot to do before the party to celebrate Mike and my wedding. We have invited a lot more people that I had originally planned but it will be a great party! I have a dress but Mike still needs an outfit. Along with my mom, Mike's mom and sister! Then there are the few people that I forgot to send invites to and then there is the change in location!! Ugh! I am happy with the change in location but I just have to send another letter in about a week letting everyone know the new address! Then there's the food, DJ, pictures, cake and everything else! I am just praying it all gets worked out without me losing it. That's what I get for planning this with so many people! I am definitely telling my sister to get a wedding planner! It'd be so much simpler for someone else to do the leg work! During all of this I finished my 2 Devry finals and started at the community college up here. I am taking pre-recs so I can apply to UF's online Business program. Also, Mike and I moved into a new house for about 6 months until my father is done with his new house. We moved because we were having so many problems with the other house we were living in that it wasn't worth it to stay another 6 months. We love the new house we are renting. It is brand new and beautiful! Mike and I are doing well. And Jessie and Mike are getting ready for duck hunting season. He can hardly wait for early teal season to start in about a month. Other than that, that's all that is going on in our lives. God is definitely taking care of us and providing what we need!

Katie Reynolds came  up for the weekend to hang out with me and my family. We had a great time catching up with each other and playing rummy! I was sad to see her go but we had a great time.

Intro

My name is Kathy and my husband is Mike. We just moved to Lake Placid in March but before that we lived in Davie. We just moved up here the first weekend in March.
We have been together since November 6th in 2004 and we just got married in March 23rd. We love living up here, where the pace is slower. We have made some good friends and we are settling in very well.
I go to school to get my Bachelors in Business Administration. Mike works got my dad. Right now, he is building the dock for my dad's new house. That is pretty much it for now! See ya!

Jessie

Mike and I got Jessie, our labrador retriever, in 2005. She was two months old and adorable! Since then, Mike has trained her to retrieve his ducks when he hunting. She loves it. She had retrieveing in her blood and is very enthusiastic about it! She was in the Sun-Sentinel last year. It was a nice article about her retrieving abliities and of course, the hunting! Mike trained Jessie on his own which everyone is suprised by since she is very well behaved. At least she is when she is around Mike. When she is around me it's a different story!
We joke that she is our first child because she sleeps in our bed and we talk to her like she is a human!

Sticks

Jessie loves to play with sticks! I don't know why! Mike HATES it because he is afraid he is going to tell her to go get a duck and she will bring back a stick. I don't blame him but she looks sooo cute with these HUGE sticks!

Bridal Dinner

Kerry threw a bridal shower for me on June 16th. So the night before I was

 in Hollywood and I got all the girls together for dinner. 

It was so much fun! We had a great night! We had a few drinks and Katie brought Emma. We passed her around all night. We stayed for a while just catching up and having a lot of laughs!! I hadn't see the girls in so long that to have them all in one place at the same time meant so much to me. They are the best friends someone can ask for. I really am very lucky!  

Hunting

Mike's hobby is hunting. Actually it is more like an obsession. I was warned, though! Hunting season is from November to February and then a week in September. 

Jessie loves to retrieve his ducks when he goes duck hunting. But otherwise she can't go hunting with him. He has a whole room in our house dedicated to his hunting stuff. He hunts deer, turkey, duck and anything else that is legal. If he didn't hunt though, I probably wouldn't have been as attracted to him.
