Maple Pork Chops

I have been in a recipe rut. It's been so hard every night to come up with a recipe that makes my whole family happy.
Tonight, I hit the jackpot though!
I kept smelling maple covered bacon. I blame it on my hormones.
So I made maple pork chops. I'm sure there's a recipe out there.
Here's mine.

Maple Pork Chops

Ingredients
4 pork chops
4 slices of bacon
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper
1/3 cup of maple syrup
2 TBSP soy sauce
2 TBSP worshershire sauce

Directions
Cut the bacon up into small pieces and brown in skillet on medium heat. Season pork chops with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper, to taste.
After bacon is browned, set aside on paper towels. With most of the bacon grease still in the pan, brown the pork chops. They take about 7-10 minutes on each side, depending on how thick they are.
When the pork is done, set aside on a plate. Turn down the heat on the pan to low. Add the syrup, soy sauce and worshershire to the pan. Using a wooden spoon, scrape all the browned bits off. Add the cooked bacon to the pan and stir for a minute. Then add the meat back in and let it simmer for a minute while you make sure your sides are all warmed up and ready!
I cooked some white rice with it and it was awesome with the sauce.

I hope you enjoy the meal as much as my family did! I was thinking it would also be great using chicken! Let me know what you think and what your family says!

It's been too long!

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. Here's an update of what we have been up to!

We do a lot of fishing

Last year, before we got an otter into our pond, we had a ton of huge catfish!

We travel to Florida a lot.

So it's always awesome when cousins come up to visit us.

We took a trip down to the Keys and stayed with my Aunt down there.

We had a lot of fun hanging out with the girls.

Then the guys picked us up and took us out on the boat.

It was a mystery we where we were going until we got to dinner.

Elizabeth and Mike watching the catfish eating.

Elizabeth and Alaina

All dressed up for church

Gigi came up and helped me plant some tomatoes while she was here. (I managed to kill them as soon as she left)

Then we got two kittens

Never being cat owners before made for an interesting experience

Especially since we travel so much. After a year and one long trip to Florida, they ran away. I'm sure they found a way better home!

Elizabeths Preschool class.

She had two great teachers. It's a wonderful school!

Mike's taken some fishing trips.

Elizabeth got to carve her first pumpkin.

I made her an Elsa dress for Halloween.

Visiting Pop Pop in Florida

And playing in the water in November...

Mike hunted.

Christmas at Bass Pro

Thats as close as she would get!! Ha!

And here we are back in Florida in December. And in the water!!

Mike went duck hunting again.

We took Elizabeth to the children's museum here in town and had a blast watching her run around.

We got a trampoline.

The preschool had a special breakfast where we could meet Anna and Elsa.

I made her Anna costume too. She needed one of each!

Mike shot a bunch of deer this year but this was the big buck.

Our winter was a bit off. But this was amazing to wake up to!

Our only real good snow but it was a lot!

We had fun sledding with the neighbors.

And then took a ride with Mike on the 4-wheeler

Elizabeth turned 5!

We rented a bounce house and fed them pizza and cake

Finn was born right before her party!

We started a garden. While we were working, Elizabeth found this guy.

My first time meeting Finn.

Gigi was there too,

He is absolutely amazing.

Elizabeth and I hogged him.

She couldn't and still can't, get enough of him.

When Elizabeth turned 5, she said she wanted her ears pierced.

There was a good deal of crying but by the time we got to lunch, she was happy to have earrings like Mama!

Since we have so much land around us, we do a lot of target practice

We have some fantastic fishing in our pond.

And plenty of little ones.

Even I can catch a fish!

We took another trip to Florida in April and May

It really was a nice time to get to spend with everyone.

Especially since it was Grandmas 87th birthday.

We took a trip with my in-laws to Weekie Wachee Springs.

And got a picture with a mermaid.

All these girls!

We also were able to take a trip to Sea World.

It was pretty awesome!

When we got back, it was time for our puppy to come home.

This was 5 minutes into the car ride home.

All dressed up for Graduation

Ready for Kindergarten!

She received an award for most helpful.

All the girls in her class.

We have started taking trips to the mountains to trout fish and camp.
We called the dog Puppy for a while until we decided to name her Kadence.

Fishing at home

Our first camping trip.

It was a success!

Grandma and Finn were able to meet each other. The excitement made them both tired so they took a nap.

Since our cats ran away, we got a new one from a friend. This one is Blaze

Mike shot this muskrat because it could ruin our pond.

This weekend when Kerry and family visited us.

We are making new friends who are Elizabeths age. We know quite a few people who have younger kids so it's nice to be making some who are her age.

We also painted her bathroom and Kerry put these decals up. Her bathroom is all cheery and pink now! Perfect for her!
