Tonight, I hit the jackpot though!
I kept smelling maple covered bacon. I blame it on my hormones.
So I made maple pork chops. I'm sure there's a recipe out there.
Here's mine.
Maple Pork Chops
Ingredients
4 pork chops
4 slices of bacon
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper
1/3 cup of maple syrup
2 TBSP soy sauce
2 TBSP worshershire sauce
Directions
Cut the bacon up into small pieces and brown in skillet on medium heat. Season pork chops with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper, to taste.
After bacon is browned, set aside on paper towels. With most of the bacon grease still in the pan, brown the pork chops. They take about 7-10 minutes on each side, depending on how thick they are.
When the pork is done, set aside on a plate. Turn down the heat on the pan to low. Add the syrup, soy sauce and worshershire to the pan. Using a wooden spoon, scrape all the browned bits off. Add the cooked bacon to the pan and stir for a minute. Then add the meat back in and let it simmer for a minute while you make sure your sides are all warmed up and ready!
I cooked some white rice with it and it was awesome with the sauce.
I hope you enjoy the meal as much as my family did! I was thinking it would also be great using chicken! Let me know what you think and what your family says!
