Intro

My name is Kathy and my husband is Mike. We just moved to Lake Placid in March but before that we lived in Davie. We just moved up here the first weekend in March.
We have been together since November 6th in 2004 and we just got married in March 23rd. We love living up here, where the pace is slower. We have made some good friends and we are settling in very well.
I go to school to get my Bachelors in Business Administration. Mike works got my dad. Right now, he is building the dock for my dad's new house. That is pretty much it for now! See ya!

Jessie

Mike and I got Jessie, our labrador retriever, in 2005. She was two months old and adorable! Since then, Mike has trained her to retrieve his ducks when he hunting. She loves it. She had retrieveing in her blood and is very enthusiastic about it! She was in the Sun-Sentinel last year. It was a nice article about her retrieving abliities and of course, the hunting! Mike trained Jessie on his own which everyone is suprised by since she is very well behaved. At least she is when she is around Mike. When she is around me it's a different story!
We joke that she is our first child because she sleeps in our bed and we talk to her like she is a human!

Sticks

Jessie loves to play with sticks! I don't know why! Mike HATES it because he is afraid he is going to tell her to go get a duck and she will bring back a stick. I don't blame him but she looks sooo cute with these HUGE sticks!

Bridal Dinner

Kerry threw a bridal shower for me on June 16th. So the night before I was

 in Hollywood and I got all the girls together for dinner. 

It was so much fun! We had a great night! We had a few drinks and Katie brought Emma. We passed her around all night. We stayed for a while just catching up and having a lot of laughs!! I hadn't see the girls in so long that to have them all in one place at the same time meant so much to me. They are the best friends someone can ask for. I really am very lucky!  

Hunting

Mike's hobby is hunting. Actually it is more like an obsession. I was warned, though! Hunting season is from November to February and then a week in September. 

Jessie loves to retrieve his ducks when he goes duck hunting. But otherwise she can't go hunting with him. He has a whole room in our house dedicated to his hunting stuff. He hunts deer, turkey, duck and anything else that is legal. If he didn't hunt though, I probably wouldn't have been as attracted to him.

Tubing

We got a little banged up though! Ashley hurt her neck when she went flying off the tube (not this picture). Her feet went over her head! It was hilarious! Except of course that she hurt herself. Rebekah got an enema when she fell off the tube onto her butt. (She's going to kill me for saying that!!) And I got rug burn on my elbow from the tube. We had a good time and I was sorry to see them go home!

Girls Week

Ashley and Rebekah came up last week to visit for about 3 days. We had a blast. Since Rebekah lives in Indiana now we don't see each other except maybe once a year. We spent Wednesday and Thursday on the water skiing, tubing, kneeboarding and wakeboarding. We watched movies at night and we went to dinner with a couple of my and Mike's friends on Thursday night. It was a great week. I had to throw them off the jet skiis! That's the most fun! I got them both to fly off! But Rebekah took me with her!

Jessie's Friend Beau

Our friends asked me to dog sit the first weekend in July. They were both going out of town and had no one to watch their puppy. I said yes but soon I was regretting it! Beau is a lab and about 4 months old. He is cute and a lover but he wanted to play with Jessie CONSTANTLY! And if it wasn't Beau trying to play, it was Jessie. I played referee all weekend! They were crazy! But Jessie made a friend and now I definetly don't want a puppy anymore! I enjoy not having to clean up pee and poop! They really were cute, though (besides the pee and poop)! Jessie jumps on the back of the couch to look out the front windows and Beau tried but couldn't quite make it. Beau was spoiled too! He was allowed on the couch and slept in bed with Jessie and I one night... well, for part of the night! I was glad for Mike to come home, that's for sure!
