Weekend at Home

A few weeks ago, we went home and I got to get together with most of the girls! It was great. I was able to see Mandy's daughter, Macie, and E got to "hold please"! We planned a surprise wedding party for Katie since she didn't get to have one. Mike watched E and Mandy's husband watched Macie. Stephanie's daughters dad even picked her up so we could all sit and enjoy. Sadly, we were leaving for WV in the morning so I had to call it an early night and leave after dinner to go help Mike pack the car. It was worth it though to be able to see everyone and make Katie feel special and have that party in her memories.

Part 2

I missed some pictures from Pennsylvania. Also some new ones from Georgia. Here they are!

She really doesn't like wearing a hat

But for some reason wanted to try it today... by herself.

She will wear one now, a month later. I guess this was just getting used to it.
This is in Pennsylvania.

Everywhere we went, it would take us so long to get there that she took most of her naps in the car.

And Jessie snuggled with a pillow.
This is a park in PA. We just went walking around one day.

And this nice monument was there.

These cars are in the mall.

Of course, she LOVED them.
It was a really rainy day in WV so we went to the Burger King to play at the indoor playground.

Inside the WV mall.

She LOVES hats now.

Swinging at the WV campground park
She asks for her stroller a lot when we are going outside.

Jessie's hanging outside for a change. It was cool enough to leave the door opened for a little while.

E's sleeping like a big kid. On her pillow and covered up.
Any kind of entertainment is great in the car but it's even more great when she wants to color or draw.

My new boots that E likes to walk around in.

When she's in the car though, no shoes or socks are tolerated.
The only buggy I can get her to stay in! She said "Drive Drive" the whole time! I'll shop at Publix just for this! I'm not kidding.

We went to Starbucks. Don't worry, she didn't have coffee in there even though she really likes it.

Then the park.
We drove around for about an hour and this was the 3rd and best park we found.

It's not as fun for her without other kids.

But she dealt with it! =)
She can go down the slide on her own...

And climbs back up instead of walking around. She's figured out that she needs to hold on to the sides though.

She went down this slide without blinking. I have to admit, I was a little worried...
Look at her hair! That's static, not wind.

She was "brave" enough to try again though. I think this kid is basically fearless.

Big Update!

This is Elizabeth's new big girl bed. When it's time for bed, she crawls in and asks me to read a book to her.
Tygart Lake State Park
Look how green it all is.
part of Tygart Lake
She's getting so "old"
She loves to play in the dirt
This is at our new campground in Georgia

Mike's always throwing her in the air

And she LOVES it!
As well as Popsicle. She asks for a "pop pop" every day.

Practicing with his bow

I filled the cooler with water and she sat right in it
Then sat in the dirt. Oh well, at least they'll wash

She could play out here all day long

She also goes down the slide on her own now.
Sunday we went to a county park

There was a little trail to follow where we met a nice couple who told about a nice spot farther up the trail

So we played in the water for a while longer

And then made our way up the trail

Where E found a stick she just had to walk with
See how long that lasted?

The water is REALLY low here

The man we met said this used to be so full and flowed so much they would let the water slide them down the rocks. It was barely moving when we were there.

I've been trying crafts with E. This is our second attempt.

She did really well. She gets very serious when we do things like this.
She ate it of course.

And continued to think about eating it.
Painted her chair...

And herself. Then we were done!

Here's my big update! Sorry I've been slacking on this! It's been what? A month or so since my last post. We are now in Georgia really close to Atlanta. I believe we are suppose to be here for a few weeks then we move a little farther from Atlanta. This job is suppose to be about 7 months long and it doesn't start for another couple weeks. Which is why we are going to be moving again. Until then, they are keeping Mike busy on other jobs. Today was his first day and everyone was very excited to have him back. (He worked for this company when he started out traveling)
Elizabeth is doing great! She is learning so much. She tries to say her ABC's and she counts to 3 if she feels like it. She also knows 5,6,7 but forgets about 4. We're working on it. She knows A-E by sight along with a bunch of random letters like S, T, O, I. She likes to cook and help us with everything. So, I give her jobs when we are unloading groceries and when I cook, I let her taste and smell things. It's great because she wants to try it since it's kind of a game to her. If we sit her down to eat it though, she isn't really interested. Some days she eats great! Other days, she eats barely anything. I think a lot of it is she wants crackers and junk which I don't offer her. Also, she wants to be independent and eat on her own. But with yogurt, that doesn't work so well. =) She is growing though and isn't losing any weight. She has amazing energy. She wakes up around 6:30 and only takes one nap now that is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.
I'm doing well also. I've been trying new recipes like crazy and a lot of them have been amazingly good! I'll have to do a separate post for just that! The traveling has been a lot of fun. West Virginia was beautiful and totally different than anything we're used to. Driving in the mountains was an eye opener. It took twice the time to get somewhere because of the twists and turns. People sped around them so fast, it amazed me. When we visited Florida, it was blaringly obvious how different the roads are. I'm glad to be back in Georgia though. It's closer to home and it's a little like home since we've been in the area so many times over the years. Things are more familiar.
We're still waiting to close on our house. There's been more problems with getting this house than we anticipated. We've decided if there are any other problems from here on out, we're going to drop it. The next closing date is sometime in October so we will see what happens between now and then.
I think that is all that is going on. Jessie is also doing good. She's getting a little more exercise than I was giving her but it's hard to get her out with Elizabeth too. I'm hoping I can find a good park with a walking path to take them both out. Elizabeth doesn't like to ride in the stroller, she wants to walk, so that makes walking Jessie on a leash more challenging. They pull me in opposite directions constantly!
Hope all is well with you and you enjoy the pictures!
