Yesterday Mike and I went fishing with some friends from work. The genius I am didn't bring the camera so I'll just have to tell you the highlights!
We woke up and 5:30 and drove over to our friends house who live here in Tampa. We loaded up the truck and got to the boat ramp around 7:00. I think when we got out of the car the thermometer said it was 38 degrees!
I was so disappointed I didn't bring the camera because the sunrise was so cool. It was all foggy and you could see the sun burning it off. The wind blew it across the water like smoke.
We were fishing for perch (I think crappie are the same thing) and all you do is put your pole out and wait for the bobber to go under the water. It's easy fishing, old man fishing. I was the first person to catch a fish. Mike told me later he was really surprised I got the first one! I was just as surprised!! After that I didn't catch another fish until the end of the day. We got a total of 25 fish but we missed and threw back probably 50 fish!
Mike caught the biggest fish and then Porky and Clyde both got two more big fish. The rest of the fish were nothing spectacular.
The day warmed up some but I was still cold most of the day. It probably got to 70 degrees out.
We went back around four and went back to the house to fry up the fish. While we were out there I got the worse sinus headache and by the time we got home, I could barely walk it hurt so badly. After about an hour and a lot of Advil, it eased up enough for me to function. I can honestly sympathise with people who get migranes (KRey). I couldn't imagine dealing with that all the time. Ugh!
Mike and I got home around 7 and got showers and went to bed. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was out.
It was a fun day, especially nice to get out of the hotel room and do something. Mike told me there is a beach a little ways from where we are staying that we will hopefully go to next weekend. He said it's a small beach but it's nice. It was too cold to go this weekend so hopefully it will be nice enough next weekend.
I found some pictures online of the park that I posted above.
